No, I hadn't considered riding to work.

I was sceptical about whether or not I would be able to incorporate cycling into my daily routine, particularly during busy commuter traffic and during the winter months.
Has the Cycle2Work scheme worked for you?
Definitely. I feel great, its certainly works well with my current fitness regime and I've been much more alert at work in the mornings.
How many times per week do you cycle since starting the scheme?
It can vary depending on the weather, but I try to cycle to work between four and five times a week.
Do you hope to continue cycling as part of the scheme?
Yes, I have really enjoyed it and certainly don't plan on giving it up any time soon! I have spread the word amongst my work colleagues, and am trying to get them on their bikes too.

Were you a cyclist prior to participating in the scheme?
I have always enjoyed cycling for leisure and used to attend spinning classes at my local gym. I borrowed my sister's bike to join in the London to Brighton fund raising bike ride, but quickly realised that I needed my own bike if I were to make the most of my training. As soon as I saw the Cycle2Work scheme advertised on the Intranet I knew there were no excuses, so I signed up!
Did you have any concerns about joining the scheme?
Not at all, the whole process seemed very simple. After my initial enquiry I received some information and a form, which I completed and returned. Within a few days I received my Letter of Collection, and off I went to Halfords to collect my bike! I love it, and am very happy with it.
Has the Cycle2Work scheme worked for you?
Yes it has, in lots of ways. I feel fantastic after I have been on a bike ride and arrive at work with a really clear head. I have been able to start cycling with my children, and I don't use so much petrol!
How many times per week do you cycle since starting the scheme?
I try to cycle in to work four times per week.
Do you hope to continue cycling as part of the scheme?
I will definitely continue cycling as part of the scheme; it's part of my routine now.
